Should i play rogue or druid

A druid that is willing to drop feral form to cast a spell when it's needed is invaluable to your group. On the other hand I've met druids who act as if once they shift into kitty, they are stuck in it til combat ends. You can basically add the gear for the specific role you need a druid to fill, and they can do it.

Off-healer, off-tank, main tank, dps, caster dps, all can be accomplished to an acceptable degree without requiring a respec. Druids are the first class usually asked to do something different than what they are spec'd for. Probably because even with total dps gear and a total dps build, feral druids still make for decent tanks. When the crap hits the fan, druids are usually the first one we expect to "drop everything and start healing".

So if you plan to do lots of soloing and lots of farming, druids are a total win. I've leveled my druid to 65 as resto virtually solo, and with enough feral gear to fight in, I can skate through most fights.

Compared to a rogue, who if they can't DPS something to death before it kills them have to admit defeat, druids do have an edge in solo ability. In terms of versatility, you really can't top druids. Shaman and Paladins come close, but not quite at the same level.

If you find yourself needing an off-tank or off-healer for just one fight in an instance or something, druids really can't be beat for filling that role. My basic statement about druids is this: They can do anything at just about any time. Unless they are spec'd for it though, and have reasonably good gear, they will do it less effectively than the other dedicated classes.

Sort of a no duh statement but it's true. I have yet to see a dedicated feral kitty or boomkin rock the dps charts above a hunter, rogue, mage, warlock, ect They are certainly competitive, but if you're looking to be at the top of the charts, I would go with a rogue over a druid. For both class I like the ability of stealth. For boomkin sometimes I feel less engaging as I just stand there to ramp up energy for starsurge. I sometimes find the ramp up time annoying. Rogue, on the other hand, feels really squishy after the opener and has less healing options than druid. I recommend playing a druid. I think that both classes are fun, but druids can do so much more than rogues IMO.

I like that you can stealth, be ranged OR melee, tank, and heal on a druid. Feral is just the worst Rogue spec. Rogue has 3 different playstyles, one of which is usually fun and one of which is usually good. Druid has, for a casual DPS player, two specs that are rarely good and very rarely fun and interactive.

You might like that, you might not. Eclipse mechanic changes from expansion to expansion from fun to tiresome to pointless. Druid feels way better out in the world. Druids can do respectable damage in both feral and boomkin. If you love the archetype of the grizzled veteran or bloodthirsty Barbarian, then in all seriousness Warrior is a great choice. But if you want to be sneaky and get in and out unseen? Rogues and Druids are by far your best option. A shining knight who defends and heals?

Paladin all the way. It really comes down to that idea you have of what you imagine your character to be — there are limitations to every class that will help you decide which one comes closest to your ideal. They all seem potentially interesting, but I also wonder about their relative utility, complexity, and overall synergy with the group.

Just curious from the peanut gallery. What are folks experiences, fi any, playing any of these classes? Pitfalls to avoid? Things you wish you knew before playing it?

Reasons for hating or loving the class? Thoughts welcome.
