When was sterling archer born

To put it another way, according to this theory, whenever you sit down and watch anything from Macross, you are not watching the events as they truly unfolded in that fictional world. Class Three theories can usually be safely ignored, but very good ones will sometimes come across as Class Twos at first encounter, so be vigilant. This occurs because the only hard difference between Class Twos and Threes is that Class Threes do not actually explain anything.

As I said above, examples abound of this sort of fan theory. Grant bullies in the opening scenes of Jurassic Park. The idea is just kinda there, like a legless table.

In a way, there also exists a fourth class of fan theory, the non-theory. You see this a lot with ambiguous stories. The idea that Cobb must be dreaming through all of Inception is a Class Four fan theory. The film is a house without a foundation without it. Not in the sense that highly unrealistic things happen in it all the time, though they certainly do.

No, I mean in the sense that smartphones and Commodore 64 green-screen computers did not coexist. The Sea Tunt could not sail in the same era that the Soviet Union lived.

No one would ever trust Christian Slater to run cocaine. That being said, I know someone who came up with a rather clever Class Two theory concerning Archer that it is a view of our time specifically ish from many years in the future. There are smartphones and the War on Drugs is just getting going and the Russians are still The Bad Guys and all that. However, I love to blow my own horn, so the rest of this is about my counter-theory to the above.

When I first got into Archer, and was sober enough to try the necessary mental gymnastics which was not often , I took the alternate-present approach. Originally I viewed Archer as being set in the same universe as The West Wing, but predicated on a Class Two arguably Class One interpretation of The West Wing as existing in an America where Nixon was impeached rather than allowed to resign, and was not pardoned down the road.

This explains why the cast of The West Wing has any amount of integrity; they live in a world where the most conspicuous example of corruption ever discovered in the American federal government was punished with extreme prejudice. Aside in the interest of political fairness: From this point out, it might seem like I have some kind of hard-on for JFK and his politics.

This argument of mine viz. Some people would say Reagan was our last true leader of a president; I disagree, but I get why people would say that. In my head, Archer takes place in that world, but with the added caveat that JFK was never shot and instead served 8 years. Then Watergate happens, but because Nixon is impeached, removed, and then politically hung out to dry instead of getting pardoned by Ford, Reagan becomes utterly disillusioned with the party, breaks from them, and tries to run as an independent.

Upon learning that was a lie, Archer frequently resolved to uncover his dad's identity to no avail. The hunt was utilized for comedic and dramatic purposes throughout Archer 's earlier seasons. In that time, several candidates emerged. While some were debunked, others were left open-ended — with their deaths preventing accurate paternity tests. The mystery has since faded into the background, with only the occasional reference made during and following Archer's three-year coma.

Archer season 12 , however, may have quietly provided the answer. Archer season 12, episode 3, "London Time" saw The Agency embark on a seemingly straightforward mission to 10 Downing Street. As expected, though, things go increasingly awry. Fortunately for Malory, the chaos allowed her a chance to reconnect with a fellow spy from her youth: Cornelius Vermer Aasif Mandvi.

The reunion also served as a silver lining for fans, since there were several signs that Cornelius may actually be Sterling Archer's father. For starters, he was depicted as every bit the super-spy that Malory herself was. Archer being the product of two such talented agents would somewhat explain his innate gifts for spycraft — despite constant inebriation and his underdog character change in Archer season Even the timing would line up with information offered ahead of Archer season Malory Archer : [scoffs] Join the club.

But for god's sake, six weeks is long enough. Sterling Archer : Really? It's been six weeks? Malory Archer : Yes, so sober up and get some penicillin shots, because Lana Kane : Is that Archer? Sterling Archer : [primes the weapon] I'll give you the bullets! Kintaru Sato : You'd rather we both die?

Sterling Archer : I'm honestly kind of on the fence! Malory Archer : [to Abbiejean] Oh, shut up. Lana Kane : I'm not jealous about the mission. I'm upset because no one knew where you were. And if, huge if, you're gonna be involved, oh my god, in any sort of parental role for Abbiejean But are we married to "Abbiejean", or? Malory Archer : Believe me, I tried. Lana Kane : Zip it, Gee-baw! Malory Archer : [gasps] No! I will not be called Gee-baw!

It's Grandmother Archer or nothing! Lana Kane : Then hush. Lana Kane : [to Archer] Because we, you and I, are gonna have to establish some ground rules. Sterling Archer : Lana, they're just gonna get broken. Lana Kane : [weary sigh] I am now going to feed our child. If you'd like to talk while I do so, follow me. Sterling Archer : I would! I would love to talk, Lana. Sterling Archer : [drinks] Just don't wanna listen. Sign In. Showing all 16 items.
