X-Men 4 sees the second appearance of the dreaded Magneto, and the first appearance of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. More importantly, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch appear here for the first time. They would go on to play major roles in the Marvel universe. It's pretty rare to find any early X-Men comics in really high grade, but 5, with its dark blue cover, shows damage a lot more than most. X-Men 5 may not be a stand-out in the history of the super-team, but it's worth decent money, especially if you find one in 9.

Dazzler is one of those characters with a following that is dedicated. While her creation was the result of a failed multi-media collaboration, the character has gone on to become legendary. She has transcended the music genre that she reflected in this initial appearance.
Even ungraded copies go for huge sums of money. As Marvel has responded to her popularity by including her in more stories and titles, the demand for this issue stays strong.
Check out what it's gone for recently. Emma Frost was the first member of Hellfire's Inner Circle and she managed to capture three of the X-Men and tortured Storm with her telepathic powers. With Kitty Pryde and Dazzler, the new mutants they've discovered, the remaining X-Men mount a rescue. This is a very pivotal part of the Dark Phoenix story. Emma Frost is defeated by squaring off with a much more powerful telepath in Phoenix.
Phoenix exhibits the cruelty of her dark persona before it formally transforms her. It's no wonder it goes for so much on sites like eBay. It may seem odd to see an issue of Avengers on an X-Men list, but this issue not only has an appearance by the X-Men, but it's the first appearance of one of the team's more popular members.
Rogue started with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and this issue shows why she was chosen by Mystique to aid a rescue effort. It doesn't hurt that this issue is beautifully drawn by Michael Golden, but the draw is the first appearance of Rogue.
